Min. of culture: Human development is the ministry’s main focus

CAIRO – 20 January 2019: Minister of Culture Inas Abdel Dayem stated that the first International Conference on Sustainable Cultural Development and Human Building is a major evidence of the ministry's interest in strengthening the relationship between culture and sustainable development.
The first International Conference on Sustainable Cultural Development and Human Building is organized by the Supreme Council for Culture within the framework of Egypt's vision 2030.The minister’s statements came during the international conference titled "Sustainable Cultural Development and Human Development". The conference was attended by up to 100 academics and researchers representing Arab and African nations.
“This conference comes at a time when we all strive to work hard to achieve the strategic goal set by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi towards building individuals, which is the ultimate goal in building a civilized and progressive nation,” stated Abdel Dayem. The minister also pointed out that she is working with an integrated team from the ministry, where all efforts and potentials are mobilized towards creating a system of positive values that reflect the government’s goal to achieve progress and social solidarity.
Moreover, Abdel Dayem pointed out that building strongly cultured human beings requires opening up to other cultures and making every effort to discover and nurture talented and creative citizens to enable them to play a pioneering role in promoting cultural leadership.
“In order to make culture an added value in the economy and sustainable development, we are sparing no effort to develop and strengthen the cultural industries to enhance the movement of publishing, music, cinema, theater, plastic arts and heritage industries. In addition, we are constantly developing and modernizing our cultural institutions to be able to reach our goal of building creative human beings and achieving sustainable cultural development,” stated Abdel Dayem.
