Modric shows confidence ahead of round of 16 draw

CAIRO – 12 December 2019: Real Madrid defeated Belgium’s Club Brugge 3-1 to make a perfect finish to the UEFA Champions League Group stage.
The 13-times Champions League winners had a tough start to the competition with a loss against PSG in France and a draw against Club Brugge at home. However, the team bounced back to gain 10 points at the remaining four games to finish runners-up behind PSG.
Finishing second means that Real Madrid is likely to have a draw against one of European Superpowers but the statements coming from Real Madrid dressing room affirms that the opponent is not an issue for Los Blancos.
"Let's see, let's wait. We're happy to have advanced. It doesn't matter who we face, it's going to be hard, whoever it is.” Luka Modric said after the victory in Belgium.
Real Madrid will face one of these five teams who finished group leaders; Liverpool, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, Manchester City and Juventus.
The competition’s regulations will prevent Real Madrid from facing teams from same country, Barcelona and Valencia, as well as the team they faced at the group stage, PSG.
