Egypt’s Tourism Ministry organizes virtual tour of Red Monastery in Sohag

CAIRO, April 5 (MENA) – The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is to organize a virtual trip to the iconic Coptic Orthodox archaeological site of Red Monastery through its Facebook page.
The visit falls within the framework of an initiative launched by the ministry with its partners to organize virtual tours of some archaeological sites and broadcast them via internet.
Every day at 7 pm, the ministry airs a virtual tour of an Egyptian archaeological site online.
On Monday, a virtual tour will be organized to Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Barquq.
The Red Monastery, which is located 21 kilometers west Sohag governorate, is one of the most remarkable Christian buildings in Egypt.
It was established by St. Pishay in the 4th century.
